We are looking for a proactive, detail-oriented, and UAE school experienced Health and Safety Officer to join our school in Dubai. This key role is responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of students, staff, and visitors on school premises, in compliance with local regulations and international best practices. Key Responsibilities
:
Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies and procedures in accordance with local regulations and school standards. Conduct regular health and safety risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards, and recommend solutions. Monitor compliance with
safety protocols
and ensure that all safety equipment, including first aid kits, fire extinguishers, and emergency alarms, are in good working order. Conduct
safety training
and awareness sessions for staff, students, and visitors, covering emergency procedures, first aid, fire drills, and other health and
safety protocols
.
Investigate accidents and incidents on school premises, preparing detailed reports and recommending preventive measures. Ensure the school complies with local, national, and international safety regulations, including those related to health standards, building safety, and fire safety. Collaborate with school management to develop and maintain emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures and crisis management strategies. Act as the point of contact for all health and safety-related matters, liaising with external agencies, authorities, and emergency services when needed.
Ensure that health and safety procedures are followed during school events, field trips, and other extracurricular activities. Maintain accurate records of health and safety incidents, inspections, and training sessions. Monitor the cleanliness and hygiene standards of the school, ensuring that sanitation and environmental health standards are upheld. Provide advice and support to staff on health and safety concerns and ensure
continuous improvement
of
safety protocols
across the school.
Required Qualifications
:
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a health and safety role, preferably in a school or educational setting in UAE. Knowledge of UAE health and safety regulations, including compliance with Dubai Municipality and other relevant local authorities. Certification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) is highly desirable. Strong understanding of
risk assessment
, emergency response, and safety management systems.
Excellent
communication skills
, both verbal and written, with the ability to train and educate staff on health and safety practices.
Attention to detail
and strong organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently. Ability to respond to emergencies quickly and effectively. Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Arabic is an advantage. A proactive and
