To assist Maarif Education in achieving its commitment to safeguarding the welfare and protection of all children and young people, the purpose of this role is to ensure the effective development and implementation of school health and safety plans in a school setting. This role will be responsible for ensuring the school site safety and health plan is prepared and implemented.
It will provide local guidance and support to all stakeholders to ensure that health and safety practices align with both domestic and international standards.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor of Engineering or Science, NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, ISO , KAWADER
Minimum 1 year of experience in the same field
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct daily health and safety inspections on the site to ensure hazards are eliminated, and prepare weekly reports and monthly work for the scorecard, including risk assessments and enforcement of preventative measures across all school campuses.
Check firefighting and alarm systems, follow up with contractors, and conduct equipment inspections to ensure proper installation and operation.
Implement precautionary measures according to the instructions of the Ministry of Health for infectious diseases.
Develop emergency plans and conduct mock drills each semester, train staff accordingly, and carry out drills to manage emergency situations.
Promote safety awareness among students and staff within schools.
Investigate accidents and near-misses, take immediate and follow-up actions to prevent recurrence.
Conduct toolbox meetings, orientation sessions for new employees, and staff training.
Follow up on and ensure the implementation of security contracts and their terms.
Identify training needs and communicate them to management.
Manage traffic within the site and during roadwork outside the premises.
Supervise clinics and ensure the availability of necessary equipment.
Oversee the work of school safety committees.
