MultiBank.io is the regulated cryptocurrency exchange under MultiBank Group, offering a user-friendly platform for instant, secure trading including Bitcoin, Ethereum and more. As we expand our offerings in the cryptocurrency space, we are looking for a Head of Trading | Crypto to join the team.
Role Overview:
We are seeking a senior crypto trading leader to take full ownership of the trading function. This is a strategic and hands-on role responsible for building, leading, and refining the firm’s crypto trading, liquidity, and derivatives capabilities.
The role spans OTC, perpetuals, funding logic, market making, liquidity sourcing, hedging, and market structure design, while also playing an important part in the strategy surrounding token-related initiatives, exchange engagement, and broader platform growth.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong combination of trading leadership, derivatives expertise, liquidity and market-making experience, token exposure, and operational depth. They should understand how to build and scale a crypto trading function that is commercially effective, technically sound, and aligned with a more structured and institutional operating environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Trading Leadership & Strategy
- Lead and scale the crypto trading function across Spot, Derivatives, OTC, and Market Making.
- Define and execute the overall trading strategy in alignment with the company’s growth plans, platform roadmap, and commercial objectives.
- Take ownership of the trading desk’s performance, operating model, and long-term capability buildout.
- Develop a clear framework for how the business prices risk, sources liquidity, manages execution, and supports product growth.
Derivatives, OTC & Pricing
- Oversee the design and refinement of derivatives trading strategy, including perpetual products, funding logic, hedging frameworks, and exposure management.
- Lead the development of OTC pricing and execution frameworks, including liquidity sourcing, cross-venue hedging logic, and real-time pricing across crypto and fiat pairs.
- Ensure pricing, execution, and risk systems reflect actual market behaviour and support sustainable commercial performance.
- Improve the desk’s ability to manage complex market conditions, funding dynamics, and non-linear risk.
Market Making, Liquidity & Market Structure
- Design and oversee sophisticated market-making strategies to support liquidity quality, spread management, order book depth, and execution efficiency.
- Define liquidity strategy across exchanges, market makers, and liquidity providers, with a focus on execution quality, reduced slippage, and deeper access to liquidity.
- Contribute to the design of market structure, execution workflows, and venue strategy in a way that supports both client flow and platform growth.
- Build frameworks for managing challenging flow dynamics, adverse selection, and client trading behaviour in a commercially intelligent way.
Token Strategy & Exchange Engagement
- Contribute to token-related trading and liquidity strategy, including early-stage liquidity models, market support, and exchange readiness.
- Bring practical exposure to token ecosystems, ideally including experience supporting token launches, listings, liquidity programs, or post-listing trading activity.
- Work closely with relevant stakeholders on exchange relationships, listing processes, and ongoing liquidity support across key venues.
- Help ensure token and exchange strategy are approached with a balance of market credibility, execution discipline, and risk awareness.
Risk, Governance & Infrastructure
- Own risk management across trading books, liquidity operations, token-related exposure, and counterparty activity.
- Build robust controls around inventory, hedging, funding, execution, liquidity, and operational escalation.
- Partner with technology teams on execution tools, APIs, pricing systems, automation, and trading infrastructure.
- Ensure that trading activity operates within a strong governance and compliance framework suitable for a serious and growing platform.
Cross-functional Leadership
- Work closely with Product, Technology, Risk, Compliance, Operations, and senior management to align trading strategy with business objectives.
- Act as the senior internal owner for all matters related to trading logic, liquidity architecture, market structure, and execution design.
- Support decisions that sit across commercial strategy and trading reality, ensuring the platform is built in a way that is both scalable and market-relevant.
Team Building & Management
- Build, lead, and mentor a high-calibre trading team and supporting trading operations capability.
- Create a culture of accountability, speed, analytical rigour, and disciplined execution.
- Strengthen the function in a way that supports scale without compromising control, performance, or market edge.
Candidate Profile:
- 7+ years of relevant experience in crypto trading, derivatives, OTC, liquidity management, or market making.
- Proven experience in leading or materially building a crypto trading function, rather than operating only as an individual contributor.
- Strong hands-on expertise in derivatives trading, including perpetuals, funding logic, hedging, pricing, and risk management.
- Deep understanding of OTC execution, liquidity sourcing, venue selection, and cross-venue hedging.
- Solid experience in market making, including liquidity management, spread optimisation, inventory considerations, and execution quality.
- Exposure to token-related trading environments, ideally including token launches, liquidity programmes, listing support, or post-listing activity.
- Experience working with major crypto exchanges and liquidity providers, ideally including exposure to tier-1 venues and how they operate commercially and operationally.
- Strong understanding of market structure, client flow behaviour, liquidity dynamics, and exchange microstructure.
- Good command of quantitative, programmatic, or systematic trading concepts, with the ability to work closely with technical and infrastructure teams.
- Proven leadership, judgment, and composure in high-pressure and fast-moving environments.
- Ability to operate effectively in a more structured, institutional, and cross-functional business setting.
Preferred Background:
- Experience from a recognised crypto exchange, market maker, liquidity provider, prop trading environment, or institutional digital asset platform.
- Exposure to both centralised and decentralised liquidity environments.
- Experience contributing to token listing, launch, or liquidity support strategy.
- Familiarity with building or improving pricing systems, funding engines, execution frameworks, or trading infrastructure.
- Experience working in businesses that combine trading ambition with governance, controls, and commercial accountability.
