A leading international main contractor is seeking a senior Head of Tender & Estimation to lead its pre contracts and estimating function in Qatar.
The ideal candidate will have extensive GCC experience with a Tier 1 / international contractor, with a proven track record of tendering major USD 200M+ complex projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the tender and estimation team and manage the full bid process.
- Develop bid-winning strategies and maximise commercial returns.
- Oversee quantity take offs, BOQ preparation and CCS estimating.
- Prepare and review detailed RFQ packages, specifications, drawings and scopes.
- Lead technical and commercial evaluations of subcontractor and supplier proposals.
- Ensure pricing, contractual terms, risks, preliminaries, OH&P, escalation and finance are fully captured.
- Present tender strategies, risks and recommendations to the Tender Committee and Board.
- Manage tender KPIs, margins, win rates and submission deadlines.
- Build and retain a high-performing tendering team.
Requirements
- BSc Civil Engineering from a UK/US-accredited university.
- Strong international Tier 1 main contractor background.
- Extensive GCC experience.
- Proven experience tendering USD 200M+ projects.
- Experience across airports, rail, bridges, data centres, luxury hotels/residences, 50+ storey towers, ports or military projects.
- Strong CCS, estimating, commercial and contractual knowledge.
- Proven leadership experience within a major pre-contracts/tendering function
