Position Summary
The Head of Procurement Section Head is responsible for leading and managing the organization's local and international procurement activities to ensure the timely acquisition of goods, materials, and services at the best value while maintaining the highest quality standards. The role focuses on developing procurement strategies, optimizing supplier performance, reducing costs, mitigating supply chain risks, and supporting the company's operational and strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with the company's business objectives.
- Lead and manage all local and international procurement activities from sourcing through delivery.
- Identify, evaluate, qualify, and develop strategic suppliers locally and globally.
- Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, contracts, and payment conditions to achieve the best total value.
- Establish and maintain long-term relationships with key suppliers and business partners.
- Manage supplier contracts and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
- Monitor procurement performance through KPIs and prepare periodic reports for senior management.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and corporate governance standards.
- Collaborate closely with Planning, Operations, Sales, Warehousing, Finance, and other departments to ensure uninterrupted product availability.
- Manage procurement risks by developing alternative sourcing strategies and supplier contingency plans.
- Monitor market trends, commodity pricing, and supply chain developments to support informed purchasing decisions.
- Lead, coach, and develop the procurement team to enhance performance and operational excellence.
- Drive continuous cost optimization initiatives without compromising quality, service, or supply continuity.
- Coordinate import, shipping, customs clearance, and international logistics activities with relevant stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as CIPS, CPSM, CSCP, or PMP are highly preferred.
Experience
- Minimum of 6–8 years of progressive procurement experience.
- At least 3–5 years in a leadership or managerial procurement role.
- Proven experience in both local and international procurement.
- Previous experience in one or more of the following industries is required:
- Fragrance and Perfume
- Food & Beverage (FMCG)
- Retail
- Pharmaceuticals
- Strong experience in international sourcing, import operations, supplier negotiations, and contract management.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or Odoo.
