Position Overview
Our client is an established, high-growth advanced engineering and technology enterprise backed by the Abu Dhabi ecosystem. The organization sits at the forefront of large-scale industrial innovation, driving capital-intensive technical projects and next-generation infrastructure development.
We are seeking a visionary Head of Strategic Procurement to direct end-to-end global sourcing, supply chain frameworks, and commercial vendor management. This is an executive position commanding a highly sophisticated, multi-million-dirham capital expenditure (CapEx) portfolio. The successful candidate will transition procurement from a transactional function into a high-speed, agile commercial enabler for deep-tech hardware, high-performance digital computing, and advanced engineering assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Global Sourcing: Architect end-to-end procurement and category management strategies for specialized technical equipment, complex engineering components, advanced machinery, and hyper-scale digital infrastructure.
- Commercial & Contractual Leadership: Lead and structure high-stakes negotiations for multi-million-dollar commercial agreements, complex master service agreements (MSAs), and strategic enterprise-level vendor alliances.
- Global Trade & Compliance Oversight: Establish robust internal governance structures to mitigate risk across international lines, ensuring absolute compliance with cross-border trade, international logistics, and strict export control regulations.
- Supply Chain Optimization: Redesign and modernize the organizational supply chain to drive material speed, cost efficiency, and commercial agility without compromising on rigid regulatory governance.
- Executive Advisory: Partner closely with executive leadership, technical directors, and external stakeholders to align supply chain velocity with broader corporate project timelines and delivery goals.
- Team Scaling & Mentorship: Direct and elevate a high-performing procurement division, instilling a culture of transparency, commercial grit, and continuous skill development.
The Ideal Profile
- Industry Experience: Minimum of 10+ years of progressive procurement leadership sitting within highly sophisticated, asset-heavy, or heavily regulated engineering domains (e.g., Defense, Aerospace, Technical Industrial Conglomerates, Telecoms, or Specialized Advanced Manufacturing).
- CapEx Portfolio Mastery: A deeply successful track record managing massive capital expenditure categories and a complex network of global Tier-1 manufacturers.
- Regulatory & Trade Acumen: Clear experience navigating complex international commercial law, dual-use frameworks, global trade compliance barriers, and supply chain risk profiling.
- Leadership Stature: Exceptional boardroom presence with the ability to translate complex procurement constraints into clear strategic options for executive committees.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a Business-related discipline. A Master’s degree or an active MCIPS certification is highly desirable.
