Responsible to develop the overall strategy for a product category and research new product opportunities within the category to drive sale and achieve set targets. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND TASKS: – Analyze data to determine industry and consumer trends. – Identify and establish long-term partnerships with direct distributors and salers. – Stay on the lookout for new suppliers based on strategy. – Assist in setting the yearly budget/sale target and profit per category. – Administer the price setting and respect the margin per category. – Monitor and enhance category/product performance. – Establish long-term development strategies for product categories. – Develop exit strategies for unsuccessful products. – Create trust relationships with vendors to achieve better pricing and quality of services. – Determine the positioning of a product category to maximize visibility. Monitor price and competition. – Collaborate with buyers and merchandisers to expand product categories. Assume responsibility of budget development and revenue for category.
Must
:Minimum Experience:5+ years of experience as a buyer/Category Manager in the grocery field non-food Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Marketing or equivalent
