We have partnered with a large, diversified conglomerate to hire a Head of AI Engineering. This is a Group-level role with a mandate that matters. AI is moving from strategy into execution across the business, and this person will own that transition end to end. From identifying the right use cases to deploying production-grade systems at enterprise scale, the remit is broad, the visibility is high and the opportunity to leave a lasting mark on a complex organisation is real.
This role suits a leader who is equally at home in a technical design review and a boardroom conversation. You will bring strong engineering depth, sharp commercial judgement and the ability to build and inspire a cross-functional team that delivers.
About the role:
- Lead the identification, design and deployment of AI use cases across business functions, owning the full journey from concept to production
- Define and own the architecture across AI/ML, GenAI and automation systems at enterprise scale
- Build, lead and scale a cross-functional AI engineering team, setting the standard for how the function operates and delivers
- Establish MLOps frameworks, deployment standards and governance practices that ensure AI systems are reliable, secure and maintainable
- Partner with product and business stakeholders across the Group to drive adoption, measure ROI and ensure AI initiatives deliver tangible commercial value
- Act as the senior technical voice on AI across the organisation, influencing decisions at Group leadership level
About you:
- 10 to 15 years or more of experience in engineering, AI or large-scale technology delivery, with a clear track record of deploying AI and ML systems into production at enterprise scale
- Strong hands-on understanding of LLMs, orchestration frameworks, MLOps and modern AI architecture patterns
- Solid experience across cloud platforms including AWS, Azure or GCP, alongside APIs and data pipeline design
- Proven ability to lead technical teams and engage senior stakeholders with equal confidence and credibility
- Commercially minded, with the ability to connect technical decisions to business outcomes and articulate value clearly
- Industry background is open, but experience within complex, multi-business-unit organisations is a strong advantage
- Based in the UAE or willing to relocate
