Key Responsibilities:
- Preoperative Duties:
- Prepare the operating room with necessary instruments and supplies.
- Assist in patient preparation, including explaining the procedure and answering basic questions.
- Perform scalp preparation and marking under the surgeon’s guidance.
- Surgical Assistance:
- Assist during the hair transplant procedure, including follicular unit extraction (FUE) or follicular unit transplantation (FUT).
- Extract, dissect, and sort hair grafts under a microscope with precision.
- Implant grafts into the scalp following the surgeon’s instructions and design.
- Monitor graft viability and ensure proper handling to prevent damage.
- Postoperative Duties:
- Provide postoperative care instructions to patients.
- Maintain accurate documentation of the procedure, including graft count and placement.
- Clean and sterilize instruments and equipment.
- Patient Care and Support:
- Ensure patient comfort throughout the procedure.
- Monitor patient vitals and respond promptly to any signs of distress or discomfort.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with the surgical team to ensure efficient workflow and patient safety.
- Communicate effectively with other staff to anticipate needs during the procedure.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Technical Expertise:
- Experience or training in FUE and FUT techniques.
- Proficiency in using surgical instruments and microscopes.
- Attention to Detail:
- High level of precision and accuracy in graft extraction and implantation.
- Interpersonal Skills:
- Ability to make patients feel at ease and explain procedures clearly.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Educational Background:
- Certification in a relevant medical or technical field (e.g., medical assistant, nursing).
- Specialized training in hair transplantation (DHA mandatory).
- Experience:
- Prior experience in a similar role or in a clinical/surgical setting is an advantage.
- Physical Stamina:
- Ability to stand for long periods and maintain focus during lengthy procedures.
