Guest Service Agent Jobs in Doha, Qatar at Plaza Inn Hotel
Position Purpose
To welcome guests to the hotel, answer guest questions, and resolve guest problems. To perform check-in and check-out duties for guests in a professional environment at all times. The Guest Service Agent (GSA) displays a professional, positive, and friendly image of the hotel as he/she plays a crucial role inguest satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Ensure prompt, efficient, and courteous reception of guests.
Ensure standards are followed at all times related to check-in & check-out.
Record and administer arrivals and departures.
Maintain full awareness of current daily status of the hotel.
Be thoroughly conversant with all room types, decor, and outlook.
Communicate and record complaints.
Be aware of daily functions, events, VIP, and group arrivals.
Ensure guests’ immediate requirements are catered for, including awareness of regular guest names & requirements.
Issue safe deposit boxes and allow guest access in accordance with procedures.
Assist in training new staff members, coaching them, and monitoring their performance.
Ensure the desk is covered at all times, allocating meal breaks sensibly.
Facilitate pre-check-in for daily VIP, BW guests, and group arrivals.
Carry out any other duties as required and assigned by the Front Office Supervisor or Night Manager.
Actively participate in Front Officeupsellingto increase hotel revenue.
Run the High Balance report daily, act on it, and report any challenges to FOS or FOM.
Ensure that guests’ passports are not held at the reception as a guarantee for payment.
Maintain the cleanliness and neatness of the front desk area & lobby.
Ensure all city ledger bills are attached with complete back for payment and forwarded to accounts.
Ensure smooth handover to the next shift.
SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS
Ensure full liaison with other members of the team.
Maintain strongcommunicationwith other departments, especially Housekeeping, Reservations, and Accounts.
Build strong relationships with guests and internal customers.
Maintain key relationships with the Front Office team.
Ensure that no information regarding guest names, details, or room numbers is given to unauthorized persons.
Ensure unidentified persons are not allowed access to guest rooms and report any accidents (guest or staff).
Be fully aware of the Health & Safety Policy.
Be aware of fire and bomb procedures.
Take care in work to avoid accidents.
Wear the correct uniform at all times and maintain standards of appearance, personal hygiene, behavior, and discipline.
Report suspicious characters or suspicious packages.
Ensure all guests in-house and new check-ins have adequate security of payments.
Be alert to fraud.
