Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Group Chief Financial Officer (Group CFO) to lead the financial transformation and institutional development of a growing diversified business group with expansion ambitions across Iraq and the region.
The role is designed for a senior finance executive capable of building scalable financial structures, strengthening banking and investor relationships, and supporting the Group’s transition from a traditional operating structure into a professionally governed holding group with regional and industrial investment ambitions.
The Group CFO will play a critical role in shaping the Group’s long-term financial strategy, capital structure, treasury management, governance framework, and investment readiness, while supporting large-scale expansion initiatives, including manufacturing and industrial projects.
This position works alongside the Group Financial Controller, who oversees financial controls, reporting integrity, compliance, and operational finance management across the Group.
Key Objectives of the Role
- Build and institutionalize a scalable group finance structure
- Strengthen banking confidence and strategic financial partnerships
- Lead financing, capital raising, and debt structuring initiatives
- Improve group-wide treasury management and cash flow visibility
- Support the Group’s transition toward holding company governance
- Enhance investor readiness and institutional financial reporting
- Support regional growth and large-scale industrial investments
Core Responsibilities
1. Group Financial Strategy
- Lead the Group’s overall financial strategy across all entities and investments
- Develop long-term capital allocation plans aligned with growth objectives
- Evaluate strategic investments, expansion opportunities, and industrial projects
- Advise leadership on financial risk, liquidity management, and growth sustainability
2. Treasury & Cash Flow Management
- Establish centralized treasury management across the Group
- Optimize liquidity, working capital, and funding structures
- Develop group-wide cash forecasting and liquidity planning systems
- Improve capital efficiency and debt utilization strategies
3. Banking & Financing
- Lead all banking relationships and financing negotiations
- Structure and manage:
- Corporate financing
- Project finance
- Trade finance facilities
- Syndicated financing
- Asset-backed financing
- Develop financing strategies for manufacturing and industrial expansion projects
- Prepare the Group for larger institutional financing relationships
4. Holding Company & Governance Development
- Support the establishment and institutionalization of holding company structures in Iraq and Dubai
- Develop group financial governance frameworks and policies
- Implement financial best practices aligned with international institutional standards
- Support board-level financial reporting and governance processes
5. Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling activities
- Develop group KPI dashboards and executive management reporting systems
- Monitor profitability, cash conversion, and operational efficiency across business units
- Support data-driven strategic decision-making
6. Investor & Stakeholder Relations
- Build and manage relationships with:
- Banks
- Financial institutions
- Strategic partners
- Potential investors
- Prepare investor-grade presentations, financial models, and financing materials
- Support due diligence, investment readiness, and strategic partnership initiatives
7. Leadership & Team Development
- Build and lead a modern finance organization across the Group
- Mentor finance managers and support leadership development within finance teams
- Work collaboratively with the Group Financial Controller to ensure:
- Financial integrity
- Strong financial controls
- Operational discipline
- Governance compliance
