Geotechnical Engineer Jobs in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia at WSP
We are seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to join a supervision consultancy team on a major transport infrastructure project in Jeddah. The role will involve overseeing geotechnical works, ensuring design compliance, and providing technical support during construction.
Responsibilities
- Review and approve geotechnical design reports, soil investigations, and foundation recommendations
- Supervise site activities related to geotechnical works including piling, shoring, excavation, and ground improvement
- Ensure all works are executed in accordance with project specifications, standards, and approved drawings
- Coordinate with design teams, contractors, and stakeholders on geotechnical matters
- Monitor construction progress and provide technical guidance to resolve site issues
- Review method statements, material submittals, and inspection requests
- Conduct site inspections and prepare technical reports
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering
- Minimum 10–15 years of experience in geotechnical engineering
- Mandatory: Experience working with engineering consultants (Tier 1 / Tier 2 preferred)
- Proven experience in transport infrastructure projects (roads, highways, bridges, rail, etc.)
- Strong experience in supervision/PMC roles (not design-only background)
- Good understanding of soil mechanics, foundation systems, and ground improvement techniques
- Familiarity with international standards and Middle East project experience preferred
