Job Purpose:
To leverage the capabilities of Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) and provide accurate location data for the Saudi Irrigation Organization (SIO) across the Kingdom. This involves managing and renewing system licenses, ensuring data enrichment, overseeing operations, and issuing required reports while ensuring compliance with cybersecurity standards. Additionally, the role involves supervising the development and management of the geospatial information platform, providing technical support, managing maintenance processes, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to meet their specific requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee GIS maintenance, operation, and data recovery.
- Ensure regular data feeding, updates, and GIS database maintenance.
- Enhance system readiness for internal and external connectivity.
- Supervise scenario modeling and issue performance reports.
- Apply cybersecurity controls and manage departmental risks.
- Lead the development of GIS, Remote Sensing platforms, and web tools.
- Align operations with national geospatial policies and standards.
- Manage system installations, permissions, and troubleshooting.
- Coordinate with internal/external entities and prioritize requirements.
- Track KPIs and report progress to senior management.
- Plan workforce needs, evaluate performance, and foster a positive work environment.
Academic Qualifications and Professional
Certifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Professional Certification in GIS from globally recognized bodies is preferred (e.g., Arc-GIS, GISP, Esri Technical Certification, GISCM, ITIL).
Years of
Experience:
- 7-10 years of experience in similar roles within local, regional, or international organizations.
- Public Sector experience within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is preferred.
