We are currently seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented General Underwriting Officer on behalf of one of our clients in the insurance sector. This is an exciting opportunity to join a reputable and expanding insurance company based in Saudi Arabia.
Position: General Underwriting Manager
Location: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and underwrite complex general insurance risks across multiple lines (property, liability, engineering, etc.).
- Make autonomous decisions on risks falling within upper-tier risk grades, in line with underwriting authority and reinsurance constraints.
- Prepare, validate, and finalize quotations, policies, and endorsements.
- Collaborate closely with actuaries, sales, reinsurance, and claims teams to optimize underwriting strategy.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of underwriting manuals, processes, and risk appetite guidelines.
- Represent the underwriting team in strategic meetings and discussions with brokers and corporate clients.
Qualifications
- More than 2 years of experience in general insurance underwriting in Saudi Arabia .
- Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Risk Management, Actuarial Science, or related field.
- IFCE certification required; Cert CII or ACII strongly preferred.
- Excellent command of Arabic and English.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and underwriting tools.
- Solid knowledge of reinsurance (facultative and treaty) and SAMA regulations.

- Confident communicator with leadership potential.
- Able to manage high volumes of data while maintaining accuracy.
- Results-oriented, self-motivated, and proactive.
- Comfortable working independently and mentoring others.
