Job Purpose:

The Terminal Operations Manager ensures the safe, efficient, and cost-effective management of terminal operations, aligning with international standards and organizational goals. This role oversees daily operations, HSSEQ compliance, customer relationships, and resource optimization while driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Operations Management

Oversee terminal operations, including HSSEQ, maintenance, asset management, and compliance with international standards (e.g., JIG, API, ISGOTT, NFPA).

Manage projects like QRA, HAZOP, and Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), ensuring safe commissioning/decommissioning activities.

Optimize operational budgets, risk management, and cost control.

Update and execute the Business Continuity Plan (BCP).

Marine and Jetty Operations

Ensure safe and compliant vessel and cargo handling, particularly for Jet A1 fuel, adhering to safety and quality protocols.

Manage jetty operations, including loading/unloading procedures, mooring, and emergency preparedness.

Staff and Shift Management

Set annual targets, conduct performance appraisals, and oversee training and development plans.

Manage shift allocations, monitor productivity, and approve leave requests, ensuring operational continuity.

Customer and Stakeholder Management

Maintain strong communication with customers, addressing complaints and ensuring inventory accuracy.

Collaborate with regulatory bodies and internal stakeholders to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.

HSSEQ and Sustainability

Implement and enhance Quality Management Systems, ensuring continual process improvements.

Conduct mock drills and risk assessments, ensuring emergency preparedness and compliance with audit requirements.

Experience

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or an equivalent certificate, with a minimum of 10 years of experience in an oil/fuel terminal, including 5 years in a management position with a proven track record.

Sound knowledge of international standards (JIG, API, EI1530, ISGOTT, NFPA, ASTM) and marine operations.

Proven expertise in project management, inventory control, and cost optimization.

Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
