Project Background:
Anera has supported 47 vulnerable families in Baqa’a Camp through the installation of
household greenhouses to enhance food security and improve livelihoods. Approximately 90%
of the cultivated crops are tomatoes, and a significant harvest is expected during the upcoming
production season.
Given the anticipated surplus, it is unlikely that beneficiary families will be able to consume the
entire yield. To minimize food waste and maximize the economic and nutritional benefits of the
harvest, Anera will organize practical tomato-processing training sessions for greenhouse
beneficiaries. The training will equip participants with simple and effective methods for
preserving and processing tomatoes into value-added products that can be consumed later or
potentially sold within their communities.

tomato processing and preservation techniques, enabling beneficiaries to reduce post-harvest
losses and increase the value of their produce.
