Job Purpose / Basic Function:
An FM (Facilities Management) Engineer is responsible for managing and maintaining buildings, equipment, and facilities to ensure safe and efficient operations. Duties include supervising maintenance activities, monitoring electrical and mechanical systems, coordinating repairs, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, managing contractors and service providers, resolving facility-related issues, and conducting site visits for tenders when required to assess project scope and requirements.
Duties and responsibilities:
* Manage and supervise day-to-day facility operations and maintenance activities;
* Monitor and maintain HVAC, plumbing, electrical, firefighting, and mechanical systems;
* Plan and implement preventive and corrective maintenance schedules;
* Coordinate and supervise contractors, vendors, and service providers;
* Conduct routine inspections and ensure facilities are operating safely and efficiently;
* Ensure compliance with HSE policies, regulations, and company standards;
* Prepare maintenance reports, service records, and technical documentation;
* Identify and resolve facility-related issues and equipment breakdowns;
* Conduct site visits and tender assessments when required;
* Support tender activities through site visits, scope assessment, and preparation of site survey
reports;
* Support budgeting, material requests, and maintenance planning activities.
* Responsible for exercise due diligence towards health and safety of self & others in the
organization.
* Responsible to comply with the applicable health & safety procedures, instruction, requirements,
laws, regulations
from customers, regulatory and statutory bodies.
* Responsible for reporting to his/her supervisors’ occurrence’s, events and acts that may affect
health, safety and company reputation.
* Performs any other related duties and responsibilities as required or, assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must have Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (preferred);
- 7+ years of experience, preferably in Facilities Management (FM) or maintenance engineering;
- Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, firefighting systems, pumps, electrical and building maintenance systems;
- Experience in preventive and corrective maintenance activities;
- Ability to manage contractors and service providers;
- Knowledge of HSE standards and facility operations;
- Ability to conduct site inspections and tender-related site visits when required;
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and teamwork skills.
