The Fleet Salesman is responsible for handling operations related to fleet vehicles and operations; ensuring the efficient maintenance, repair, and management of the company’s fleet to meet operational requirements and performance standards; optimizing workshop productivity, controlling costs, and maximizing fleet uptime.

Fleet Operations

  • Monitor fleet activities and make decisions about proper asset management, dispatch and routing, and vehicle acquisition and disposal.
  • Coordinate fleet maintenance and repair activities, including preventive maintenance, corrective repairs, and inspections.
  • Ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and keep vehicles in optimal operating condition.
  • Help Quote Vehicle fleet pricing.
  • Co-ordinate with country fleet sales teams to collect all required data to respond to customer or prospect’s requests for tender
  • Produce draft tender documents in co-ordination with bid-desk team members
  • Act on a list of prioritized prospects developed both autonomously and with marketing support in agreement with the Fleet Sales Leader
  • Handle the diagnosis and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and technical issues in vehicles.
  • Develop and implement strategies to extend the lifespan of fleet vehicles and minimize lifecycle costs.
  • Manage parts inventory levels, procurement, and stock replenishment to ensure availability of spare parts and components for fleet repairs.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, vendors, and parts distributors to negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules.
  • Handle day to day shipping and receiving of vehicles.
  • Meet operational needs by efficient staffing and resourcing of materials and equipment.
  • Maintain strong connections with vendors at all stages, inclosing pricing and delivery structures.
  • Handle specific shipment or paperwork concerns
  • Train and supervise the warehouse staff to be efficient and effective
  • Conduct audits with accuracy.
  • Administer warranty programs and ensure that warranty claims are processed accurately and efficiently.
  • Verify warranty coverage, coordinate repairs or replacements, and liaise with other departments to address recurring issues.

Budget & Costing

  • Develop and manage the workshop budget, including expenses, labor costs, and parts procurement.
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance metrics, such as costs per mile, maintenance expenses, and repair costs, to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Implement cost control measures, negotiate vendor contracts, and optimize resource utilization to achieve budgetary objectives.

Stakeholder Relations

  • Maintain strong relationships with fleet customers, including corporate clients, government agencies, and transportation companies.
  • Address customer inquiries, concerns, and service requests promptly and professionally.
  • Collaborate with sales and account management teams to identify customer needs, upsell services, and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Negotiate agreements with customers to clarify any misunderstood directions and resolve any conflicts affecting performance.

Educational Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or equivalent

Professional Certifications

Automotive Sales Certification

Experience

Minimum 2 years of experience in automotive sales, preferably in fleet sales or B2B sales

Languages Proficiency

Fluency in English & Arabic languages
