Key Responsibilities:
Responsibility for the development, performance and maintenance of all vehicle fleet and the efficient running of the fleet to maximize performance and service to all business units.
Ensuring that the fleet team understands the duties of the fleet team and its role within the organization
Meet the targets of the fleet manager and the team
Contribute to the training and development of the team
Manage and monitor the condition of the fleet
Maintain and improve mechanisms to manage and service the fleet
Direct the development of plans to achieve internal customer targets
Plans for fleet improvement and availability.
Reporting monthly on fleet up time per business unit.
Delegation of authority within the fleet department
Management of spare parts and purchasing of parts in line with department budgets
Mage relationships with internal and external customers
Adhere to company policies and procedures
Complying to Government policies and procedures and the payment of regulatory fees
Skills
Skills / Experiences:
Previous fleet management experience at a mid-size organization
3-5 years as assistant fleet manager
Extensive mechanical or workshop management experience
Procurement of new vehicles and sparer parts
Microsoft office or fleet management system preference
Education:
Qualified Mechanical Technician – petrol, diesel and tractor
