Job Summary
Mobco Facility Management is seeking a qualified and experienced Fire & Life Safety Operator to join our operations team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring, operating, and maintaining Fire Alarm and Life Safety Systems to ensure the safety of occupants, assets, and facilities. The role involves continuous monitoring of fire and life safety systems, emergency response coordination, alarm management, incident reporting, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and operational procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and operate Fire Alarm and Life Safety systems through centralized monitoring systems and control panels.
- Respond immediately to fire alarms, emergency signals, system faults, and abnormal conditions.
- Coordinate with emergency response teams, maintenance personnel, and site operations during emergencies.
- Monitor fire pumps, sprinkler systems, smoke management systems, emergency lighting, PA/VA systems, and other life safety systems.
- Conduct routine inspections and operational checks of fire and life safety equipment.
- Maintain accurate logs, alarm records, incident reports, and daily operational reports.
- Ensure all fire and life safety systems are functioning properly and escalate critical issues immediately.
- Support preventive and corrective maintenance activities related to fire and life safety systems.
- Assist during fire drills, emergency evacuation exercises, and testing/commissioning activities.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, civil defense requirements, HSE policies, and company procedures.
- Coordinate with contractors and service providers during maintenance and troubleshooting activities.
- Maintain operational readiness of emergency communication and monitoring systems.
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Fire & Safety Engineering, or related discipline.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in Fire & Life Safety operations within Facility Management, Commercial Buildings, Hospitals, Airports, Infrastructure, or Industrial projects.
- Strong knowledge of Fire Alarm Systems, Fire Suppression Systems, Life Safety Systems, and Emergency Response Procedures.
- Experience in monitoring systems such as Fire Alarm Panels, BMS, and integrated safety systems.
- Familiarity with NFPA standards, Civil Defense regulations, and HSE requirements.
- Ability to respond effectively under emergency situations and high-pressure environments.
- Strong communication, reporting, and coordination skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and operational reporting tools.
- Willingness to work on rotational shifts and emergency standby duties.
Preferred Skills
- Certification in Fire & Safety or related technical disciplines is an advantage.
- Experience in large-scale facilities or mixed-use developments.
- Knowledge of emergency evacuation procedures and incident management.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
