Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Joinery Carpenter to manufacture, assemble, install, and repair high-quality wooden furniture, cabinets, doors, wardrobes, kitchens, and other custom joinery items. The ideal candidate should be able to read technical drawings, operate woodworking machinery, and ensure all work is completed to a high standard of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications.
- Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood and other materials according to project requirements.
- Manufacture and install custom-made furniture, wardrobes, cabinets, kitchens, doors, windows, and other joinery items.
- Operate woodworking machines and hand tools safely and efficiently.
- Carry out finishing work, including sanding, fitting, and adjustments for a high-quality finish.
- Install joinery products at client sites and ensure proper alignment and functionality.
- Repair or replace damaged wooden fixtures and furniture as required.
- Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality standards and customer expectations.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, organized work area.
- Follow all company safety procedures and site regulations.
- Coordinate with supervisors and other trades to complete projects on schedule.
Requirements
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience as a Joinery Carpenter.
- Good knowledge of woodworking techniques, materials, and joinery methods.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Proficiency in using woodworking machines and hand tools.
- Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
- Physically fit and able to lift heavy materials when required.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety practices.
