Lead budgeting, rolling forecasts, project performance reporting and board-ready analysis across engineering and construction activities, with strong use of Oracle, Power BI, Microsoft Copilot and AI-enabled analytics to improve speed, accuracy and financial control.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering Management or a related field. Master’s degree or professional qualification such as ACCA, CMA, CFA or equivalent is preferred.
- Minimum 8 to 10 years’ experience in FP&A, finance business partnering, project control or financial controlling, ideally within engineering, construction, contracting, real estate development or a project-based consultancy environment.
- Strong knowledge of construction project economics: budgets, cost-to-complete, committed cost, variation orders, claims, payment certificates, work in progress, project margin and cash flow.
- Solid understanding of IFRS, with practical exposure to IFRS 15 revenue recognition for long-term contracts and project-based performance obligations.
- Advanced capability in Excel, financial modelling, Power BI or similar reporting tools, with strong experience using ERP systems. Oracle Fusion experience is a strong advantage.
- Practical knowledge of Microsoft 365 Copilot and AI tools for financial analysis, management reporting, variance commentary, automation of recurring tasks and executive communication.
- UAE experience is preferred; regional exposure across KSA and Egypt is an advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Planning, Budgeting and Forecasting: lead annual budgets, rolling forecasts and multi-year plans for engineering and construction activities, by project, department and business unit.
- Project Performance Management: monitor actual results versus budget and forecast, analyse revenue, cost, gross margin, operating profit, utilization, productivity, committed cost and cost-to-complete.
- IFRS 15 and Project Revenue: support revenue recognition analysis based on contract terms, performance obligations, progress measurement, variations, claims and recoverability assumptions.
- Management Reporting: prepare monthly management packs, project dashboards, board-level summaries and concise commentary on key movements, risks, opportunities and required actions.
- Business Partnering: work closely with project directors, engineering, contracting, procurement, commercial and operations teams to challenge assumptions and support better financial decisions.
- Tendering and Commercial Support: support pricing, bid reviews, business cases, margin analysis and sensitivity scenarios for major contracts and strategic initiatives.
- Cash, Billing and Working Capital: track payment certificates, client invoicing, collections, retention, advances, supplier commitments and DSO, ensuring strong coordination with Accounting, AP and AR teams.
- Cost Control and Governance: improve financial discipline around purchase orders, supplier invoices, project coding, cost allocation, budget ownership and approval workflows.
- Oracle and Data Integrity: support Oracle Fusion implementation and continuous improvement, ensuring clean project master data, reliable reporting structures and alignment between Finance and Operations.
- AI, Copilot and Automation: use Microsoft Copilot, Power BI, Excel and AI-assisted workflows to accelerate analysis, automate recurring reports, improve variance explanations and create executive-ready insights while respecting data confidentiality and governance.
- KPI Development: design and monitor financial and operational KPIs, including project gross margin, earned value indicators, cost performance, schedule performance, utilization, billing progress, collections and forecast accuracy.
- Continuous Improvement: identify process gaps, manual controls and reporting inefficiencies, then propose practical improvements to strengthen planning, close, reporting and decision-making.
