The Finance Director will be responsible for leading the full finance function of a contracting company in KSA, with a strong focus on cash flow management, project finance control, financial planning, reporting, budgeting, compliance, and strategic financial leadership .The ideal candidate must have extensive experience in the GCC construction/contracting industry, particularly in handling the financial operations of mega projects, managing project cash flow, controlling costs, supporting commercial decisions, and ensuring financial stability across multiple projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the overall finance, accounting, budgeting, treasury, taxation, and financial reporting functions.
- Oversee cash flow planning and ensure sufficient liquidity for ongoing and upcoming mega projects.
- Monitor project cash flow, receivables, payables, project funding requirements, and working capital.
- Prepare and manage annual budgets, financial forecasts, business plans, and long-term financial strategies.
- Review project financial performance, including revenue recognition, cost control, margins, profitability, and cash position.
- Coordinate with project directors, commercial teams, contracts, procurement, and operations to ensure financial alignment.
- Manage banking relationships, credit facilities, guarantees, bonds, letters of credit, and project financing requirements.
- Ensure timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
- Oversee financial risk management, internal controls, audit processes, and compliance requirements.
- Ensure compliance with KSA financial regulations, tax laws, VAT, ZATCA requirements, and company policies.
- Support tendering and commercial teams with financial evaluation, pricing strategy, cash flow projections, and risk assessment.
- Review subcontractor payments, supplier payments, client billing, collections, and claims-related financial matters.
- Lead external audit coordination and ensure accurate and timely completion of audit requirements.
- Develop and implement financial policies, systems, procedures, and control frameworks.
- Provide strategic financial advice to senior management to support business growth and profitability.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related field.
- Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, CMA, CFA, or equivalent is highly preferred.
- Master’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration is an advantage.
Required Experience
- Minimum 18 years of total experience in finance and accounting.
- Strong experience handling finance functions within contracting or construction companies in the GCC.
- Proven experience managing financial operations for mega projects.
- Solid background in cash flow management for large-scale construction projects.
- Experience in KSA or strong knowledge of the KSA market is highly preferred.
- Previous experience as Finance Director, Finance Controller, Head of Finance, or senior finance leader in a contracting company is preferred.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Strong knowledge of construction finance, project accounting, cost control, budgeting, and financial forecasting.
- Excellent understanding of cash flow management, working capital, receivables, payables, and project funding.
- Strong knowledge of KSA tax regulations, VAT, ZATCA requirements, and financial compliance.
- Ability to analyze project profitability, cost performance, margins, and financial risks.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professional judgment.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple mega project financial requirements.
- Proficiency in ERP/accounting systems and advanced Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar ERP systems is an advantage.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Currently based in KSA or GCC.
- Has worked with large contracting companies handling mega projects, infrastructure, high-rise buildings, commercial, hospitality, mixed-use, or industrial projects.
- Strong banking, treasury, project finance, and cash flow management exposure.
- CPA or equivalent professional qualification is strongly preferred.
- Able to join within a reasonable notice period.
