Financial Counselling & Authorization Officer (RCM)
For SSMC – Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City – Abu Dhabi
We are seeking a Financial Counselling & Authorization Officer to support revenue cycle operations, with a focus on insurance authorizations, guarantee of payment (GOP), and self‑pay counselling within a healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and follow up on insurance authorization requests and GOP approvals
- Coordinate with clinical, coding, billing, and insurance teams to ensure complete documentation
- Communicate with payers to resolve authorization queries and denials
- Counsel self‑pay patients on estimated costs, payment options, and financial responsibilities
- Manage follow‑ups for pending approvals and re‑authorizations
- Maintain accurate insurance, patient, and authorization records in hospital systems
- Support reporting on authorization status, self‑pay data, and financial clearances
Requirements:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field
- 2–4 years of experience in insurance authorization, financial counselling, or healthcare RCM
- Strong understanding of insurance eligibility, authorizations, and GOP processes
- Experience coordinating with patients, insurers, and internal healthcare teams
- Proficiency in MS Office and healthcare billing/authorization systems
- Fluent in English and Arabic
- Experience in a large healthcare facility is preferred
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: AED10,000.00 – AED15,000.00 per month
