Job Summary
The Financial Controller/Officer will play a pivotal role in driving the organization’s financial planning and strategic budgeting efforts. This position focuses on preparing and monitoring budgets, managing project expenses, and developing accurate cash flow forecasts to support decision-making. The ideal candidate should have aproven track recordinfinancial analysis, forecasting, andresource allocation, ensuring financial health and alignment with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning and Budgeting
Develop, implement, and manage the annual budget process across all departments.
Collaborate with project managers to create and monitor project-specific budgets.
Provide insights and recommendations for costoptimizationandresource allocation.
Project Expense Management
Review and analyze project expenses to ensure alignment with budgets.
Develop mechanisms for tracking and controlling project expenditures in real time.
Prepare detailed financial reports on project performance, identifying variances and providing solutions to address them.
Cash Flow Management
Prepare and maintain rolling cash flow forecasts to ensure sufficient liquidity for operations and investments.
Monitor and analyze cash flow trends, identifying potential risks and proposing mitigation strategies.
Collaborate with the treasury function (if applicable) to optimize working capital and funding strategies.
Financial Reporting and Analysis
Deliver regular and ad hoc financial reports to theleadershipteam, focusing on key financial metrics and trends.
Conduct variance analysis against budgets and forecasts, providing actionable insights.
Support the preparation of financial statements incollaborationwith the accounting team.
Strategic Financial Initiatives
Contribute to the development of long-term financial strategies and goals.
Providefinancial modelingsupport for new projects and business initiatives.
Participate in organizational decision-making, offering data-driven financial perspectives.
Qualifications
Education
and Certification
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
Experience
Minimum of 5–8 years of experience in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting roles.
Proven expertise in managing project finances and cash flow analysis.
Experience in a similar role in [industry/sector, e.g., IT, manufacturing, etc.] is a plus.
Skills and Competencies
Strong analytical andfinancial modelingskills.
Advanced proficiency in financial software and tools (e.g., Microsoft Excel, SAP, or other ERP systems).
Excellentcommunicationand stakeholder management abilities.
Highattention to detailand accuracy in financial reporting.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
