Our client is a major GCC local Bank with a wide network across the Gulf and a growing presence in Europe. They currently seek an experienced finance and audit professional to work in their Saudi Arabia business based in Al Khobar.
Dutiesfor this role are as follows:
– Recommend to Head of Financial Audit a comprehensive audit plan inrespectof each audit.
– Within the guidelines of the Standard Audit Programs, develop, implement and modify procedures to ensure thorough audit coverage in the light of changing operational circumstances.
– Perform and supervise operational audits to ascertain by test, the adequacy, integrity, and reliability of financial information, appropriate transaction authorization, safeguarding of assets, andregulatory compliance. Also, to assess the quality and effectiveness of controls.
– Review the work of subordinates, correct and provide guidance.
– Ensure the preparation and maintenance of adequate work papers and documents.
– Prepare and maintain records necessary to substantiate time and other costs incurred in performing audits.
– Ascertain the correction of exceptions and recommendations contained in prior audit reports, reports of public accountant and supervisory authorities.
– Understand and conform with the Audit Standards, Policies and Procedures manual requirements.

The Person
Applicants for this role must satisfy the following:
– Qualified CPA
– Must have FS sector experience
– Understanding of generally accepted accounting practices.
– Understanding of bank operations and lines of business
– Knowledge of audit standards and techniques including current pronouncements of the Institute of Internal Auditors
– Conversant with Banking regulations and regulatory requirements of the locations for which there is responsibility
– Oral and written communications skills in English, as well as the business language of the locations
– Ability to prepare effectively worded audit comments summarised in reports and to present them to management
– Ability to integrate and work effectively within the Financial Audit team besides conducting a professional manner towards auditees at all times
