JOB PURPOSE
To support Oman Air assigned departments to develop accurate financial planning and budgets
and monitor spending, while finding effective ways to optimize/minimize spending.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Conduct comprehensive financial analysis, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis,
and trend identification to support strategic decision-making and improve financial performance
• Support the annual financial budgeting process in collaboration with assigned departments to
understand their budgeting needs and ensure accuracy in the forecasting
• Conduct benchmarking and market analysis to ensure the assigned department’s budget is in
line with best practices
• Assess the budget to identify cost-saving opportunities and provide recommendations on how
to optimize costs
• Support in developing the annual, quarterly, and monthly projections
• Implement approved department budgets into the corporate system, overseeing and
comparing actual spending with set limits, and preparing monthly reporting of actuals versus budget
• Conduct contract reviews from a financial perspective and support the tendering process
• Monitor key financial metrics and operational KPIs, identifying areas of improvement and
opportunities for cost reduction or revenue enhancement
• Prepare timely and accurate financial reports, dashboards, and presentations for management,
highlighting financial results, trends, and key insights
• Work closely with assigned departments to address their financial needs and issues, e.g., budget
transfers, new business cases, etc.
• Performs additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned and instructed by the line manager.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting or similar discipline with a minimum of 2 years of
relevant experience in a similar role
or
• Diploma Holders with 4 years of relevant experience in a similar role in an airline provided the
individual holds a specialised certificate / license in the relevant discipline (applies to internal
candidates only)
