As our presence in the Kingdom continues to grow, we are seeking a capable and motivated Financial Accountant to join our team and support our expanding operations.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the Group Financial Controller based in Sydney, Australia, this role offers a unique opportunity to gain exposure to international finance, taxation, audit, corporate operations and regulatory compliance across three jurisdictions within a growing biotechnology company. The successful candidate will support the day-to-day accounting and compliance activities of the Group and the Saudi Arabia entity while working closely with management, external auditors, tax advisers, and service providers across multiple jurisdictions. The role will also provide exposure to UK and Australian accounting, taxation, audit and financial reporting requirements, offering a unique opportunity to develop international finance experience. We are looking for a proactive individual who enjoys learning, investigating issues and recommending practical solutions.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate accounting records and general ledger balances.
- Process accounts payable, expense claims, and accounts receivable transactions.
- Review vendor accounts and transactions.
- Prepare payment requests and bank transfers.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit card accounts and payroll data.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes.
- Prepare audit schedules and coordinate information requests from auditors.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting and cash flow reporting as required.
- Support the preparation of management reports and financial reporting packages.
- Ensure compliance with Saudi Arabian tax and regulatory requirements, including VAT, Withholding Tax, Zakat, and Corporate Income Tax (as applicable), as well as other required regulatory filings.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax advisers and service providers.
- Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and inconsistencies.
- Support implementation and improvement of financial controls, policies and procedures.
- Assist with ad hoc finance and business projects.
Working Arrangement
This is a fully remote position based in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate must reside in Riyadh and be able to attend the Company’s Riyadh office and other locations as required to support operational, regulatory, audit and business activities.
Working Hours
Due to the international nature of the role and regular interaction with the Group Financial Controller based in Sydney, Australia, the successful candidate will be required to commence work at approximately 7:00 am Riyadh time from Monday to Thursday (preferred). Sunday working hours will generally follow normal local business hours, subject to operational requirements.

You are organised, detail-oriented and capable of working with general direction and limited supervision. You take ownership of your work, communicate effectively and are willing to learn and develop professionally. Essential
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
- Current right to work and reside in Saudi Arabia.
- 3–5 years of accounting or finance experience.
- Experience with general ledger, accounts payable, expense claims, accounts receivable and month-end processes.
- Experience supporting external IFRS audits.
- Exposure to Saudi Arabian VAT and statutory compliance requirements.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote and international environment.
Desirable
- SOCPA, ACCA, CPA, CA or equivalent qualification (or currently studying).
- Experience within a multinational organisation.
- Experience working with international teams across multiple jurisdictions.
- Exposure to UK and/or Australian accounting, taxation and audit requirements.
- Working knowledge of IFRS and experience preparing or supporting IFRS-compliant financial reporting.
- Experience with cloud-based accounting and ERP systems (e.g. Xero, NetSuite or similar).
- Working proficiency in Arabic would be highly regarded for communicating with local stakeholders, advisers, and service providers in Saudi Arabia.

- The successful candidate will undertake complex operational accounting activities while maintaining a high standard of accuracy, professionalism and accountability.
