Finance Specialist – Taxation Jobs in Dubai, UAE at Emirates Flight Catering
Key Result Areas:
Assist with preparation and submission of VAT returns to Federal Tax Authority on a monthly basis.
Ensure timely and accurate regulatory filing, tax accounting/reconciliation.
Perform various postings to the General Ledger and reconcile VAT accounts.
Reconcile AR/AP sub-ledger and matching Trial Balance with General Ledger.
Vouching the correctness of the VAT treatment of the invoices to ensure that the VAT calculation and treatment are correct.
Reconciliation of Customs documentation and invoices.
Extraction of other direct entries from the Treasury module.
Proactively identify and mitigate tax risks.
Develop and monitor and promote continuous improvement of functional procedures and processes by conducting work value analyses and studies in order to optimize methods and procedures.
Contribute to the development & implement VAT principles, policies and processes to ensure completion and compilation of VAT mechanism and registrations across the businesses.
Provide periodic training and mentorship to finance, procurement, supply chain and other relevant departments in regard to VAT implementation, documentation and compliance.
Ensuring the organization to be up to date on changes in VAT legislations.
Prepare management report as required.
Dealing with VAT Audits and other tax office communication.
Assist on ad hoc projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
Graduate from a recognized university in a taxation subject, bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting, or qualifications as a Certified Tax practitioner.
Work Experience:
6 years of relevant accounting work experience, 3 years in taxation
Good understanding of the Tax and Customs Laws and Regulations and experience in proactively managing new developments.
Skills:
An excellent technical and practical knowledge of taxation
Ability to prioritize workload
Excellent English language written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team setting.
Ability to manage both day-to-day operations as well as project work.
Proven ability to build strong partnerships with external and internal stake holders
Self-motivator that will seek out and wield opportunities to improve process & delivery
Ability to assimilate complex information into clear and practical reports
Highly competent with MS Excel and other MS Office Applications
