Job Summary:

A File Clerk is responsible for maintaining and organizing company records in both physical and digital formats. This role ensures that files are properly labeled, stored, and easily accessible for authorized personnel. The File Clerk plays an essential role in keeping the office organized, supporting efficient recordkeeping and data retrieval.

Key Responsibilities:

The File Clerk manages the filing system by creating new files, sorting and filing documents, retrieving requested records, and ensuring all files are up to date. They may scan documents into digital databases, maintain file confidentiality, and follow company policies on records retention and disposal. In addition, the File Clerk may assist with general office duties such as data entry, photocopying, and document preparation.

Qualifications and Skills:

A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage time effectively are essential for this position. Familiarity with office equipment and basic computer applications such as Microsoft Office or document management systems is preferred.
