Role: Principal FPGA DSP Engineer
We are currently looking for an experienced Principal FPGA DSP Engineer to join a leading UAE-based defence and space technology organisation working on advanced MODEM, wireless communications, DSP and secure communication systems.
This is a highly technical role suited to an engineer who has strong hands-on experience in FPGA/RTL development combined with digital communications, MODEM/baseband, receivers and DSP.
What You’ll Be Working On
The role will involve the design, development and integration of FPGA-based communication systems, including:
- MODEM and baseband architecture
- Digital transmitter and receiver development
- Real-time DSP and signal-processing algorithms
- Wireless communication systems and PHY-layer implementation
- MIMO systems and receiver processing
- DVB / DVB-S / DVB-S2 and related digital communication technologies
- RCS / RCS2 and satellite communication technologies
- SDR and software-defined communication architectures
- FPGA implementation of communication algorithms and waveforms
- High-speed digital data paths and hardware/software integration
- FPGA system integration, verification, debugging and hardware bring-up
- Timing closure, performance optimisation and resource optimisation
- Development of solutions for mission-critical defence and space applications
Experience with MODEM + DSP + receiver + wireless communications is particularly important.
Important
Candidates should have genuine hands-on experience in FPGA-based communications/DSP.
A profile focused only on:
- Generic FPGA/RTL
- ASIC design
- AI/ML acceleration
- Image/video processing
- Networking/IP infrastructure
- General embedded systems
without meaningful MODEM, receiver, wireless communications or communications DSP experience is unlikely to be suitable.
