Field Operator, Coal and Ash – Hassyan, Dubai Jobs in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia at Almajdouie
Field Operator, Coal and Ashis responsible for all field operations of jetty systems, coal handling system, and ash handling system. He/she has to be in close coordination with the Coal and Ash control room, operate the local valves, pumps and equipment, check plant condition and isolate the equipment for maintenance work. Ensure plant housekeeping, daily checklist filling, and reporting every activity to the control room.
Field Operations
Follow safety guidelines including PTW system
Comply with all statutory and environmental norms
Support Shift Supervisor in system configuration for local line up and isolation of equipment
Monitor and record local parameters (e.g., levels, pressure, temperatures of equipment, bearings, lube oils, etc.)
Local monitoring of plant condition of equipment through observation, listening for abnormal sounds, detecting vibrations, heat, etc., and reporting to desk operator
Coordinate with control room operations
Report any leakages of coal, ash, air, water, etc.
Manual operation of valves, dampers, equipment, etc.
Ensure the correct position of piping hangers and supports
Check for valves, safety valves, PRVs passing and report to control room
Write major activities/events performed during the shift in logbook and fill the area log sheets
Adhere to SOPs/Operating Instructions
Switch from automatic to manual controls and isolate equipment mechanically and electrically to allow for safe execution of repair work
Adjust and/or control valves on equipment to regulate and set operations of system or industrial processes
Inform and report on accidents, suggest preventive measures
Provide first line support to report and initial extinguishing of fires, and other emergency and critical occurrences, keeping the CCR informed at all times
Report unsafe conditions and unsafe acts at field to competent authority
Be a proactive team member and participate inteamwork
Ensure housekeeping and cleanliness
Work in any other area as assigned by shift engineer or desk operator
Comply with safety rules and regulations. Be familiar with the fire equipment in his area
Health, Safety, Security & Environment
Adhere to all relevant health, safety, security, and environmental procedures, instructions, and controls so that the safety of employees and environmental compliance can be guaranteed
Monitor the environmental regulatory parameters on a regular basis and report any deviations to Shift Supervisor/Engineer or CCR Operator for corrective action
Minimum Qualifications, Experience, Requirements:
Technical Diploma holder in Engineering
1 – 3 years’ experience in Coal Field operations in the Power/Water desalination units
Skills
Knowledge of relevant plant equipment and field operations
Extensive experience as local operator in any of the following types: conventional, combined cycle, Water Desalination Plants like RO, MSF, MED, etc., and Renewable Energy types:
Solar, Wind Mills, etc.
Awareness of HSE & quality standards
Knowledge of all relevant plant processes and equipment
Attention to detail
Knowledge of identification, classification, and disposal of waste
Knowledge of firefighting equipment
