KnK Japan (Children Without Borders Japan) is a Japanese organization registered as an NGO in Jordan. Since 2018, the organization has been implementing Japanese-style educational activities “TOKKATSU” with the aim of fostering children’s non-cognitive skills and social skills. In addition, KnK has been conducting instructor training programs for teachers on TOKKATSU and promoting activities that encourage parental involvement, thereby establishing a foundation for the dissemination and sustainability of Special Activities in Jordan.

Brief introduction of the project:

This project aims to create an environment in Jordan where vulnerable children due to their refugee status or economic difficulties, can continue their education in a safe and supportive setting. To achieve this goal, the project will offer opportunities for educators to deepen their knowledge of TOKKATSU (School’s life skill), which is designed to foster non-cognitive skills – particularly social skills – within the school context, and to enhance their understanding of the importance and effectiveness of such activities. The project will support the development of safe and supportive classroom environments through implementing classroom activities such as classroom guidance, student duties and rotations, and classroom discussion. Based on the results of these activities, the project will work in close collaboration with the relevant education directorates to develop a mechanism for expanding and adapting the approach to other regions.
