Fiberglass Molder / Resin Worker Jobs in Sharjah at Sculpt Art N Design FZC
A fiberglass worker (laminator or fabricator) molds, shapes, by applying gel coats, resin-saturated mats, and structural materials into molds using hand lay-up. They produce, finish, and inspect high-strength structures for industries like marine, automotive, art and design while adhering to safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Fabrication & Laminating: Apply gel coats, resins, and fiberglass mats/cloth using rollers, brushes into molds.
- Mold Preparation: Clean, wax, and apply parting agents (release agents) to molds to ensure finished parts can be removed, according to O*NET.
- Finishing & Repair: Trim excess material, sand, grind, and buff cured parts to smooth surfaces and ensure quality.
- Quality Control: Inspect finished products visually or with tools for defects like air bubbles, cracks, or improper curing.
- Safety Compliance: Wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE)—such as respirators, gloves, and eye protection—to handle chemicals and airborne particles safely
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Technical Skills: Ability to read blueprints/specifications, mix chemical catalysts, and operate tools (cutters, spray guns).
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy materials, and work in a fast-paced, sometimes noisy manufacturing environment, according to this YouTube video.
- Detail-Oriented: Precision in measuring and applying materials to maintain structural integrity.
- Experience: Often requires experience in GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic) lamination or composite fabrication
