Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Fiber Optic & Structured Cabling Technician with strong construction site experience. The candidate should have hands-on experience in fiber optic installation, splicing, testing, and structured cabling works.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and route fiber optic and structured cabling systems at construction sites.
- Perform fiber optic cable pulling, dressing, termination, and labeling.
- Carry out fusion splicing and fiber termination.
- Install and terminate ODF, LIU, fiber patch panels, and enclosures.
- Perform fiber testing using OTDR, Power Meter, and Light Source.
- Analyze OTDR results and troubleshoot fiber faults and high-loss points.
- Install and terminate Cat6/Cat6A UTP and FTP structured cabling.
- Install and terminate patch panels, information outlets, keystone jacks, and network racks.
- Perform copper cable testing using appropriate cable testers and prepare test reports.
- Read and understand ELV drawings, structured cabling layouts, and cable schedules.
- Maintain proper cable dressing, labeling, and rack management.
- Coordinate with site engineers and other trades during installation.
- Carry out testing, troubleshooting, snag rectification, and handover works.
Requirements
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in fiber optic and structured cabling works.
- Construction site experience is mandatory.
- Strong hands-on experience in fiber splicing, termination, and testing.
- Good knowledge of OTDR, Power Meter, and Light Source.
- Experience with Cat6/Cat6A UTP/FTP installation and termination.
- Experience with ODF, LIU, patch panels, racks, and structured cabling accessories.
- Ability to read ELV and structured cabling drawings.
- Good troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.
- UAE construction experience will be an advantage.
- Valid UAE Driving Licence is an advantage.
- Immediate joiners will be preferred.
