Maintenance Engineer – Mechanical Background
Duties & Responsibilities:
Perform regular inspections, servicing, and repairs of mechanical systems, including HVAC, pumps, compressors, plumbing, firefighting systems, elevators, and escalators.
Identify and troubleshoot faults in mechanical equipment and ensure prompt resolution.
Implement preventive maintenance schedules to reduce downtime and prolong equipment lifespan.
Oversee the operation, maintenance, and optimization of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems.
Ensure the efficient functioning of chillers, cooling towers, AHUs (Air Handling Units), FCUs (Fan Coil Units), ducting, and ventilation systems.
Monitor and improve energy efficiency of mechanical systems.
Maintain and repair pumps, water supply systems, drainage, and plumbing fixtures.
Ensure fire suppression systems, including sprinklers, fire pumps, and hydrants, are in working condition.
Conduct pressure testing and system flushing to prevent leakages or failures.
Conduct risk assessments and ensure adherence to HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) regulations.
Implement safety measures to prevent hazards related to mechanical systems (e.g., gas leaks, overheating, pressure failures).
Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and maintenance services.
Review service contracts and ensure third-party service providers meet performance and safety standards.
Supervise installation and commissioning of new mechanical equipment.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance logs, work orders, spare parts inventory, and compliance reports.
Prepare technical reports on system performance, failures, and recommended upgrades.
Lead and support a team of mechanical technicians and maintenance staff.
Provide technical guidance and training on mechanical system maintenance, troubleshooting, and safety procedures.
Collaborate with electrical, civil, and soft FM teams to ensure seamless building operations.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Additional certifications in HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, or fire protection systems (preferred).
3–10 years of experience in mechanical maintenance within the Facilities Management industry.
Strong background in handling HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) systems.
