We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Commis II to join our dynamic kitchen team. As a Commis II, you will assist in food preparation and cooking in various sections of the kitchen. Key Responsibilities:
Food Preparation & Cooking:
Assist in the preparation and cooking of dishes as directed by the Chef de Partie or Sous Chef.
Prepare ingredients, ensure food is ready for cooking, and assist with basic cooking techniques.
Follow recipes and instructions to produce food that meets the restaurant’s quality standards.
Kitchen Hygiene & Safety:
Maintain a clean and organized work station at all times.
Adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations to ensure safe handling of food and equipment.
Assist with cleaning duties, including washing kitchen utensils and equipment.
Stock Management:
Assist in checking food stock and ensure ingredients are properly stored.
Help monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies when needed.
Teamwork & Support:
Work collaboratively with other members of the kitchen team, including senior chefs and other commis.
Support the Chef de Partie in their day-to-day tasks and assist during busy service periods.
Communicate effectively with other kitchen staff to ensure a smooth workflow.
Learning & Development:
Participate in training programs to enhance culinary knowledge and skills.
Take initiative to learn new cooking techniques and processes.
Actively seek feedback to improve your performance and skills in the kitchen.
Skills & Qualifications:
Experience:
Previous experience in a kitchen environment, preferably as a Commis II role.
A passion for cooking and a desire to learn and improve culinary skills.
Technical Skills:
Basic understanding of kitchen equipment and food preparation techniques.
Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations.
Personal Attributes:
Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a desire to learn.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and during busy service hours.
Team player with good communication skills
