Job Title: Senior Mechanical Technician

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mechanical Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and availability of plant and equipment through planned maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, particularly in crane and plant equipment, and the ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Perform planned maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs to ensure maximum operational availability of equipment in compliance with safety regulations and procedures.
2. Diagnose equipment faults, determine repair methods, and identify required spare parts for efficient and permanent solutions.
3. Select correct spare parts using technical manuals or visual recognition and continuously improve repair methods.
4. Conduct maintenance, fault diagnosis, and repairs on crane-related equipment and parts, adhering to company systems and processes.
5. Communicate with supervisors to provide updates on work progress.
6. Visit work sites and equipment locations as assigned, including tasks beyond regular workshop duties.
7. Develop cross-functional knowledge to work across sections, including crane and plant equipment, as well as electrical and mechanical systems.
8. Ensure all work is carried out safely and that daily activities of the team comply with safety regulations and procedures.
9. Train and mentor junior technicians, providing guidance on best practices and safety protocols.
10. Stay updated with industry trends, new technologies, and advancements in mechanical and electrical systems.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Mechanical Technician, preferably in a senior role from any container terminal.
Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, particularly in crane and plant equipment.
Ability to diagnose faults, perform repairs, and select appropriate spare parts.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.
