Job Purpose:
The Facilities Engineer plays a key role in supporting the daily operations and maintenance of facilities. The position ensures timely resolution of technical issues, high-quality service delivery, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The role also involves assisting Facilities Managers with budgeting, reporting, and team coordination on-site.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain up-to-date asset data and coordinate with the Asset Management team.
Ensure timely completion of Fire & Life Safety (FLS) and third-party inspections before certifications expire.
Oversee maintenance operations to ensure high professional and technical standards are maintained by all staff.
Review and update maintenance schedules to reduce reactive calls and minimize equipment downtime.
Mentor and guide the technical team, contributing to performance management and development.
Manage third-party service providers and monitor compliance with service-level agreements and KPIs.
Ensure all site operations comply with local and (where applicable) international laws and codes.
Provide detailed scopes for repair and project works to aid in accurate contractor quotations.
Support governance processes and internal reporting structures.
Carry out additional tasks and responsibilities as directed by management.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent qualification from a recognized university.
Licenses: UAE Driver’s License is required.
Experience: Minimum 2 years in facility management with exposure to MEP systems and CAFM platforms.
Knowledge:
Preventive and critical maintenance strategies
Compliance with FLS and third-party certifications
Building systems and asset lifecycle
Strong communication and reporting abilities (written and verbal)
Ability to manage teams and conduct performance reviews
Proficient in leveraging technology for facilities management
High level of initiative, adaptability, leadership, and teamwork
Strong time management and problem-solving skills
Performance Indicators:
Identify and recommend technical enhancements to facilities.
Ensure timely reporting and updates to the Facilities Manager.
Reduce client complaints through proactive maintenance and service excellence.
Foster collaboration among teams and service partners.
Contribute to sustainable solutions and energy-efficient practices.
