Job Description: Massage Therapist
Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Massage Therapist to join our wellness team. As a Massage Therapist, you will play a crucial role in promoting relaxation, relieving tension, and enhancing the overall well-being of our clients through the art of massage therapy. Your expertise and healing touch will contribute to creating a soothing and rejuvenating experience for our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide a variety of massage therapy techniques, including Swedish, deep tissue, hot stone, aromatherapy, and other specialized modalities, based on clients’ needs and preferences.
Conduct thorough consultations with clients to assess their physical conditions, medical histories, and specific goals for each session.
Customize massage treatments to address individual concerns and target areas, utilizing appropriate pressure and techniques.
Maintain a clean, calming, and organized treatment room, ensuring a comfortable and inviting atmosphere for clients.
Educate clients about the benefits of massage therapy, recommend personalized self-care routines, and provide guidance on post-massage care.
Keep up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in massage therapy techniques to continuously improve the quality of services offered.
Adhere to ethical and professional standards, including client confidentiality and maintaining appropriate boundaries.
Collaborate with other wellness professionals, such as chiropractors or physical therapists, to create holistic treatment plans for clients.
Manage appointment scheduling, maintain accurate client records, and process payments efficiently.
Uphold the highest standards of hygiene, sanitation, and safety protocols in accordance with industry regulations.
Qualifications:
Valid massage therapy license/certification from a recognized institution or governing body.
Proven experience in providing a range of massage therapy techniques.
Strong knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and common musculoskeletal conditions.
Excellent communication skills to listen to clients’ needs and provide clear explanations of treatment options.
Empathy and a compassionate demeanor to create a relaxing and nurturing environment for clients.
Physical stamina and dexterity to perform massage therapy techniques for extended periods.
Ability to adapt techniques to accommodate clients with varying health conditions or specific requests.
Professionalism and integrity in maintaining client privacy and respecting personal boundaries.
Strong time management skills to effectively manage appointments and maintain a consistent schedule.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, bend, and move fluidly during massage sessions.
Strength and coordination to apply various levels of pressure and perform massage techniques.
Lift and move massage equipment and supplies as needed.
