Job Summary
LITCO Group is seeking an experienced Fabrication Engineer to join our team in Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring fabrication activities for structural steel projects while ensuring production is completed in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, quality standards, and delivery schedules.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in structural steel fabrication, production planning, workshop coordination, quality control, and inspection processes. Candidates with hands-on experience coordinating between engineering, production, procurement, QA/QC, and site execution teams will be given preference.
Key Responsibilities
Fabrication Planning & Coordination
- Plan, organize, and supervise structural steel fabrication activities to meet production schedules and project milestones.
- Coordinate fabrication activities from engineering release through production, inspection, dispatch, and site delivery.
- Review IFC drawings, shop drawings, fabrication drawings, BOQs, and technical specifications before production begins.
- Develop fabrication priorities based on project schedules and site requirements.
- Coordinate with production, procurement, logistics, QA/QC, and project teams to ensure uninterrupted workflow.
Production Management
- Monitor daily fabrication activities to ensure productivity, efficiency, and adherence to approved fabrication procedures.
- Ensure fabrication of columns, beams, trusses, rafters, bracings, platforms, staircases, handrails, and other structural steel components is carried out according to approved drawings.
- Optimize manpower, machinery, materials, and workshop resources to maximize production output.
- Identify production bottlenecks and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency.
- Monitor fabrication progress and ensure timely completion of production targets.
Technical Coordination
- Interpret structural drawings, fabrication drawings, GA drawings, and connection details.
- Coordinate with design and engineering teams to resolve fabrication-related technical issues.
- Verify dimensions, material specifications, and fabrication requirements before production.
- Assist in resolving drawing discrepancies and technical queries.
Inspection & Quality Control
- Coordinate Material Inspection Requests (MIR) and fabrication inspections with QA/QC personnel.
- Ensure fabrication activities comply with approved Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), project specifications, and client requirements.
- Monitor dimensional accuracy, welding quality, fit-up, and workmanship throughout the fabrication process.
- Coordinate corrective actions for non-conformances and quality observations.
- Maintain fabrication records, inspection reports, and quality documentation.
Project Coordination
- Coordinate with Project Engineers and Site Engineers regarding fabrication priorities and delivery schedules.
- Ensure fabricated materials are dispatched according to site requirements and project timelines.
- Participate in production meetings and provide regular fabrication progress updates.
- Support project teams in achieving overall project completion targets.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure workshop activities comply with company safety procedures and applicable regulations.
- Promote safe working practices throughout fabrication operations.
- Ensure fabrication activities comply with approved procedures, project specifications, and contractual requirements.
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, or a related Engineering discipline.
Experience
- Minimum 4 years of Fabrication Engineer experience in Saudi Arabia.
- Strong experience in structural steel fabrication and workshop operations.
- Experience handling fabrication for industrial, commercial, warehouse, infrastructure, or steel structure projects.
- Proven experience coordinating fabrication activities from planning through production and final dispatch.
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of structural steel fabrication processes and workshop operations.
- Ability to read and interpret IFC drawings, shop drawings, fabrication drawings, BOQs, and technical specifications.
- Experience preparing and coordinating MIR documentation and fabrication inspections.
- Familiarity with welding processes, steel fabrication standards, material traceability, and quality control procedures.
- Knowledge of fabrication planning, production scheduling, and workshop resource management.
Soft Skills
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with production teams, QA/QC, procurement, project management, and site personnel.
- Strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple fabrication activities while meeting production deadlines.
Pay: ﷼8,000.00 – ﷼10,000.00 per month
