Work Description or Responsibilities of the role
Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, BOQs, and client requirements.
• Prepare quantity take-offs for Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection systems.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labour, equipment, subcontractors, and miscellaneous expenses.
• Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and project teams for technical clarifications.
• Prepare tender pricing, commercial proposals, and bid documentation.
• Identify project risks, exclusions, assumptions, and value engineering opportunities.
• Maintain estimation databases, cost records, and historical pricing information.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and tender clarification meetings when required.
• Ensure all bids are submitted within the specified deadlines and comply with client requirements.
• Support post-award handover by sharing estimation details with the project execution team.
• Keep updated with market prices, construction methods, and industry trends.
Experience
• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• 2–5 years of experience in MEP estimation within the contracting industry.
• Experience in Saudi Arabia or GCC contracting projects is preferred.
Skills:
• Strong understanding of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection systems.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and BOQs.
• Knowledge of Saudi and international construction standards.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Experience with estimation software and AutoCAD is preferred.
• Good analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong negotiation and vendor coordination skills.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tenders simultaneously
