About the Role:
Halo Interiors LLC is seeking an experienced and analytical Estimation Engineer – Civil, MEP & Joinery to join our Estimation Department. The ideal candidate will have extensive UAE experience in interior fit-out projects and will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, BOQs, tender submissions, and value engineering proposals for commercial, corporate, retail, hospitality, F&B, high-end residential projects and luxuirious interior fit out projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, BOQs, and client requirements to prepare accurate cost estimates for Civil, MEP, and Joinery fit-out works.
- Prepare detailed quantity take-offs for Civil, Architectural, MEP, and Joinery packages using drawings, specifications, and digital estimation tools.
- Prepare cost estimates using estimation software/tools such as:
- CostX
- Planswift
- Bluebeam Revu
- AutoCAD Quantity Take-Off
- RDash templates
- Excel-based estimation templates
- Other construction estimating platforms
- Analyze drawings and prepare quantities for:
- Civil Works: Demolition, blockwork, plaster, flooring, tiling, painting, waterproofing.
- MEP Works: HVAC, electrical, plumbing, firefighting, and ELV systems.
- High-End Joinery Works: Kitchens, wardrobes, doors, wall panels, media walls, furniture, and custom fabrication.
- Prepare detailed BOQs, rate analysis, and tender submissions including material, labour, subcontractor costs, wastage, overheads, and profit margins.
- Coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors, engineers, and project teams to obtain competitive quotations and ensure technical compliance.
- Prepare cost comparisons, value engineering proposals, and alternative solutions for cost optimization.
- Prepare variation quotations, additional work pricing, and cost impact analysis during project execution.
- Utilize RDash Project Management Software for:
- Creating project BOQs and quotations.
- Creating project budgets and cost breakdown structures.
- Monitoring estimated vs. actual project costs.
- Tracking procurement requirements and material status.
- Maintain updated databases of material prices, supplier quotations, subcontractor rates, and historical project costs to improve estimation accuracy and ensure competitive client quotations and tender submissions.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of UAE experience in estimation for Interior Fit-Out projects.
- Strong knowledge of Civil, MEP, Joinery, and Interior Fit-Out construction methods.
- Proven experience preparing estimates for commercial offices, retail, hospitality, restaurants, healthcare, and luxury residential projects.
- Excellent understanding of BOQs, quantity surveying principles, and tender documentation.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Office.
- Experience with estimation software such as PlanSwift, CostX, Bluebeam, or similar platforms is an advantage.
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
- Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of UAE construction standards and authority requirements.
- Familiarity with value engineering and cost optimization techniques.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Team-oriented with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments.
