Job Purpose

The Sustainability Reporting & ESG Manager is responsible for leading the organization’s sustainability reporting, climate-related disclosures, and ESG initiatives in line with international reporting standards and regulatory requirements. The role will oversee greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting, climate risk assessments, ESG data management, and sustainability reporting while ensuring compliance with IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards (S1 & S2), ISSB requirements, and relevant Qatar regulatory expectations.

The successful candidate will work closely with internal departments, senior management, and external stakeholders to develop transparent, high-quality sustainability reports and support the organization’s ESG strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Sustainability Reporting

  • Lead the preparation and publication of annual Sustainability and ESG Reports.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards (S1 & S2) and ISSB reporting requirements.
  • Support listed company sustainability disclosure obligations.
  • Develop and maintain sustainability reporting frameworks, methodologies, and internal controls.
  • Coordinate ESG reporting across multiple business functions.

ESG Management

  • Support the development and implementation of the corporate ESG strategy.
  • Monitor ESG performance indicators and recommend continuous improvements.
  • Establish ESG governance processes and reporting mechanisms.
  • Benchmark ESG performance against industry best practices.

Climate & GHG Management

  • Develop, implement, and maintain Greenhouse Gas (GHG) accounting systems.
  • Perform GHG inventories covering Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 emissions.
  • Develop GHG reporting protocols, including validation and implementation.
  • Support carbon reduction initiatives and net-zero strategies.
  • Conduct climate-related physical and transition risk assessments.

Regulatory Compliance

  • Monitor sustainability-related legislation, standards, and regulatory developments.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Qatar sustainability reporting requirements.
  • Support implementation of QFMA sustainability disclosure expectations where applicable.
  • Coordinate responses to ESG rating agencies, investor questionnaires, and regulatory requests.

Data Management & Analysis

  • Collect, validate, and analyse ESG data from business units.
  • Develop ESG dashboards using Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and/or Tableau.
  • Maintain sustainability reporting databases and documentation.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and traceability.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Engage with internal stakeholders to improve ESG awareness and reporting capabilities.
  • Coordinate with external consultants, auditors, and verification bodies.
  • Present sustainability performance reports to senior management and executive committees.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, Finance, Environmental Management, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Master’s Degree is an advantage.

Professional Experience

  • Minimum 8–10 years of professional experience in:
  • Sustainability Reporting
  • ESG Management
  • Corporate Sustainability
  • Climate Disclosures
  • Demonstrated experience supporting listed companies with IFRS S1/S2 and ISSB-aligned disclosures.
  • Proven experience in:
  • GHG Accounting (Scope 1, Scope 2 & Scope 3)
  • Climate Risk Assessments (Physical and Transition Risks)
  • Working knowledge of QFMA disclosure requirements and Qatar’s sustainability regulatory landscape is preferred.

Preferred Certifications

  • IFRS FSA Credential (Level 2)
  • ISSB / IFRS Sustainability Certification
  • GRI Certified Sustainability Professional
  • ISO 14064 Lead Practitioner
  • Additional ESG, climate risk, or sustainability-related certifications are advantageous.
