We are seeking a qualified and experienced Environmental Specialist to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The Environmental Specialist will be responsible for conducting environmental assessments, site inspections, monitoring activities, data analysis, and reporting to minimize environmental risks and improve the environmental performance of projects. The role will also ensure compliance with applicable Saudi environmental laws, regulations, permits, contractual requirements, and international standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the preparation and implementation of Environmental Management Plans (EMP), Environmental and Social Management Plans (ESMP), and project-specific environmental procedures.
- Participate in Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and environmental baseline studies.
- Conduct environmental site assessments, audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.
- Assess potential environmental impacts associated with construction, industrial, waste-management, and infrastructure activities.
- Conduct routine inspections of project sites, facilities, workshops, storage areas, waste-handling areas, and temporary camps.
- Monitor air quality, noise, wastewater, groundwater, soil, emissions, dust, odor, and other applicable environmental parameters.
- Identify environmental non-conformities and risks, issue corrective-action requests, and follow up until closure.
- Assist in obtaining and renewing environmental permits, approvals, and licenses.
- Prepare daily, weekly, monthly, and annual environmental reports.
- Collect, review, validate, and analyze environmental monitoring data.
- Maintain records of inspections, permits, incidents, complaints, waste quantities, training, and corrective actions.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of an Environmental Management System in accordance with ISO 14001.
- Participate in internal and external environmental audits.
- Coordinate with regulatory authorities, clients, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
