Role Description
Site Assessment and Investigation:
Conduct site visits to evaluate environmental conditions (soil, air, water).
Develop and implement sampling plans for soil, air, and water.
Oversee field sampling activities and ensure data quality control.
Analyze environmental data to identify potential contamination.
Prepare reports summarizing site conditions and potential environmental risks.
Remediation Planning and Design:
Develop remedial action plans (RAPs) to address identified contamination.
Design and implement remediation systems (e.g., soil excavation, pump & treat systems).
Ensure compliance with relevant environmental regulations throughout the remediation process.
Project Management
and Reporting:
Manage site environmental projects from conception to completion.
Develop and maintain project budgets and schedules.
Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders (e.g., regulatory agencies, contractors).
Prepare progress reports and presentations on project status and findings.
Regulatory Compliance
:
Stay up-to-date on relevant environmental regulations (local, national, international).
Ensure project activities comply with all applicable environmental regulations.
Maintain communication and documentation for regulatory agencies.
Additional Skills and
Qualifications:
Strong understanding of environmental engineering principles (pollution control, waste management, etc.).
Experience with environmental site assessments and remediation projects.
Proficiency in environmental data analysis and reporting software.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
Familiarity with relevant environmental regulations and permitting processes.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and scientific rigor.
Possess a valid diving certification.
Must have Bachelor’s in Environment or related subjects.
NEBOSH IGC/EC (Additional not mandatory).
Minimum of five years of experience.
Preferred candidates locally available in KSA with transferable Iqama.
Potential Areas of Specialization:
Soil and groundwater remediation.
Air quality monitoring and control.
Hazardous materials management.
Brownfield redevelopment.
Environmental impact assessments.
Tools and Technologies:
Environmental sampling equipment (soil borings, air monitoring instruments).
Environmental data management software (e.g., AutoCAD, ArcGIS).
Regulatory databases and compliance tools.
Important Considerations:
Site environmental engineers mostly work outdoors in various weather conditions.
The job may require travel to project sites.
The ability to handle physical demands associated with field work may be necessary.
