Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly motivated Enterprise Networks & Data Center Engineer (L2 Operations) for one of our customers. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing second-line operational support, troubleshooting, incident resolution, and implementation support across the enterprise network and data center infrastructure in a 24×7 operational environment.
This role supports a modern enterprise infrastructure comprising Cisco Software-Defined Access (SDA), Cisco Wireless Fabric, Cisco Nexus Data Center networks, and Cisco WAN & Internet routing solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide L2 support for enterprise network and data center infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex network incidents.
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring and major incidents.
- Implement approved network configuration changes following change management procedures.
- Monitor network performance, availability, and capacity.
- Support and troubleshoot Cisco Software-Defined Access (SDA) Fabric environments.
- Support Cisco Catalyst Center operations and network automation activities.
- Troubleshoot Cisco Catalyst switching environments, including Layer 2 and Layer 3 services.
- Support Cisco Catalyst 9800 Wireless Controllers, Cisco Access Points, Wireless Fabric, WLANs, and client connectivity.
- Administer and troubleshoot Cisco Nexus Data Center switching environments, including vPC, VLANs, Layer 2, and Layer 3 connectivity.
- Support Cisco WAN and Internet infrastructure, including Cisco ISR/ASR routers, MPLS, Internet, VPN, OSPF, BGP, NAT, and IP SLA.
- Perform network health checks, configuration validation, and post-change verification.
- Collaborate with L1 Operations, L3 Engineering, vendors, and Cisco TAC to restore services and resolve complex technical issues.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation, operational procedures, and incident records.
- Participate in planned maintenance activities and on-call support as required.
Required Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Enterprise Routing and Switching.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco Software-Defined Access (SDA).
- Experience with Cisco Catalyst Center.
- Experience supporting Cisco Catalyst 9000 Series switches.
- Strong knowledge of Cisco Wireless solutions, including Catalyst 9800 Wireless Controllers and Access Points.
- Experience with Cisco Nexus 9000 Series switches and traditional Data Center networking.
- Good understanding of WAN technologies, including MPLS, Internet, VPN, BGP, OSPF, NAT, and IP SLA.
- Familiarity with network monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident management tools.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a 24×7 operational support environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 3–6 years of hands-on experience in Enterprise Network Operations or Data Center Operations.
- CCNP Enterprise certification is preferred.
- Cisco Data Center and Wireless certifications are considered an advantage.
