Located in the former Ministry of Interior building, The Ned Doha offers seven restaurants, 90 bedrooms, event venues, and Ned’s Club, a private members’ club that gives access to spaces including a rooftop terrace, a health club with spa, gym and 30m outdoor pool.
Job Purpose:
We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Engineering Supervisor to join our team and ensure our facilities remain safe, fully functional, and well-maintained at all times. The Engineering Supervisor assists in the daily supervision of the Engineering Department and is responsible for the maintenance and repair of the hotel’s buildings, systems, and equipment. This role supports operational excellence and guest satisfaction by leading a team of technicians and coordinating maintenance tasks.
Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate the work of engineering staff and contractors.
Perform routine inspections of the property to identify maintenance issues and ensure compliance with safety standards.
Oversee repairs and maintenance of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
Assist in planning and executing preventive maintenance programs.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and inventory.
Respond promptly to guest and staff maintenance requests.
Support energy conservation initiatives and sustainability efforts.
Ensure team compliance with safety policies, health regulations, and hotel standards.
Assist in training and development of junior technicians.
Qualifications &
Competencies:
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a hotel or commercial building maintenance environment.
Previous supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of building systems: HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
Relevant certifications (e.g., HVAC, Electrical License, or EPA Certification) are a plus.
