Kinza is a fast-growing beverage manufacturer producing high-quality carbonated soft drinks distributed across Saudi Arabia, the GCC, and international markets.

The company operates high-speed beverage manufacturing lines and is undergoing a major Industry 4.0 digital transformation, including the implementation of SAP S/4HANA, SCADA, MES, advanced analytics, and AI-enabled manufacturing technologies.

The company has embarked on a structured roadmap to transform its facilities into smart factories with connected systems, intelligent maintenance, and data-driven decision-making.

To support this transformation, we are seeking a highly experienced Engineering & Maintenance Manager capable of leading both world-class maintenance operations and advanced digital maintenance systems.

Position Summary

The Engineering & Maintenance Manager will be responsible for ensuring maximum reliability, efficiency, and availability of all production assets in a high-speed beverage manufacturing environment.

This role combines traditional engineering leadership with advanced digital manufacturing capabilities, including:

  • Predictive maintenance
  • AI-driven equipment monitoring
  • Industrial IoT integration
  • SCADA/MES connectivity
  • SAP S/4HANA maintenance management
  • Industry 4.0 transformation initiatives

The successful candidate will play a key role in implementing the company’s Smart Factory roadmap, supporting SIRI transformation objectives and introducing AI-enabled predictive maintenance technologies to improve equipment uptime and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance Strategy & Asset Reliability

• Develop and implement a world-class preventive and predictive maintenance program.

• Ensure maximum equipment availability, reliability, and efficiency across all manufacturing assets.

• Implement Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and reliability-centered maintenance strategies.

• Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and failure mode analysis (FMEA).

• Monitor and improve key reliability metrics including:

  • MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures)
  • MTTR (Mean Time To Repair)
  • OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness)
  • Equipment downtime
  • Maintenance cost per unit

• Develop long-term asset lifecycle management strategies.

Industry 4.0, SIRI & Smart Factory Implementation

The Maintenance Manager will play a key role in implementing the company’s Industry 4.0 roadmap aligned with the Smart Industry Readiness Index (SIRI) transformation program.

Responsibilities include:

• Supporting the implementation of digital manufacturing systems and connected factory infrastructure.

• Developing data-driven maintenance strategies using real-time equipment data.

• Leading projects involving:

  • Industrial IoT sensors
  • Predictive maintenance platforms
  • Machine learning models for equipment health monitoring
  • AI-based anomaly detection
  • Digital twins for asset performance monitoring

• Integrating maintenance systems with:

  • SCADA
  • MES
  • SAP S/4HANA Plant Maintenance module

• Implementing real-time production and maintenance dashboards for operational visibility.

Digital Maintenance Systems

• Lead the implementation and optimization of the SAP S/4HANA Plant Maintenance (PM) module.

• Ensure integration between:

  • SAP
  • MES
  • SCADA
  • IoT sensors
  • Machine data collection systems

• Develop AI-driven predictive maintenance programs using equipment performance data.

• Implement condition-based monitoring systems including vibration analysis, thermal monitoring, and advanced diagnostics.

Engineering & Technical Leadership

Manage maintenance of all production and utility systems including:

• High-speed beverage filling and packaging lines

• Syrup preparation and beverage processing systems

• Conveyors and automated palletizing systems

• Industrial refrigeration and chillers

• Air compressors and utilities

• Electrical distribution systems

• PLC, SCADA, and automation infrastructure

• Water treatment and beverage processing equipment

Continuous Improvement

• Lead Six Sigma Black Belt improvement projects.

• Implement Total Quality Management (TQM) across maintenance processes.

• Drive Lean manufacturing and operational excellence initiatives.

• Identify opportunities to improve:

  • Equipment performance
  • Energy efficiency
  • Maintenance cost structure
  • Spare parts optimization

Maintenance Planning & Budgeting

• Develop and manage the annual maintenance budget.

• Optimize spare parts inventory and reliability planning.

• Manage CAPEX projects related to equipment upgrades and modernization.

• Support engineering projects including installation of new production lines.

Team Leadership

Lead and develop a multidisciplinary technical team including:

  • Mechanical engineers
  • Electrical engineers
  • Automation engineers
  • Instrumentation technicians
  • HVAC and utilities specialists
  • Maintenance planners

Responsibilities include:

• Developing technical capabilities within the team.

• Implementing structured maintenance training programs.

• Driving a culture of reliability, safety, and continuous improvement.

Safety, Quality & Compliance

• Ensure maintenance activities comply with:

  • GMP
  • HACCP
  • FSSC 22000
  • HSE regulations

• Ensure safe maintenance practices and permit-to-work systems.

• Maintain compliance with regulatory and food safety requirements.

Required Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in:

• Mechanical Engineering

• Electrical Engineering

• Mechatronics

• Industrial Engineering or related discipline

MBA or advanced management qualification preferred.

Experience

• Minimum 10 years of management-level experience in the carbonated soft drinks industry

• Experience in high-speed beverage manufacturing plants

• Experience working with international beverage companies or large bottling operations is highly desirable

Technical Skills

Strong experience in:

• High-speed beverage production lines

• Industrial automation systems

• SCADA systems

• Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)

• SAP S/4HANA Plant Maintenance module
