Position: Engineer, Rotating Equipment Maintenance (Habshan)

Job Purpose

Plan, supervise and coordinate all major rotating equipment maintenance activities to ensure availability and reliability by utilizing highly skilled company staff, external resources, vendors and OEMs. Ensure that major rotating equipment in the plant is operated and maintained safely, with minimal downtime and optimum cost in line with company maintenance objectives.

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide decision support for the production and maintenance teams for equipment testing, troubleshooting, routine surveillance, start‑up activities, and training on all rotating equipment.
  • Develop long‑range plans for machinery overhaul through performance evaluations and running hours to maintain high reliability and availability of the plant.
  • Work with the production teams to ensure the integrity, reliability and sustainability of all mechanical assets associated with rotating equipment.
  • Assist the Senior Rotating Engineer as required in areas of scheduling, estimating budgets and other relevant jobs to the section.
  • Review required spare parts and their availability with all resources needed to execute work, complete activities per plan and reduce equipment downtime.
  • Lead or support root‑cause analysis investigations, solution development and risk assessments to minimize trips and improve plant reliability.
  • Prepare scope of work and follow up with OEM/service providers for refurbishment/repair works of major non‑inspectable parts, including budgeting, issuing SWO’s, tracking and receiving.
  • Supervise major overhauls and ensure completion as per plan.
  • Provide technical support to area maintenance and operations, troubleshoot and resolve chronic problems by identifying deeper investigation solutions.
  • Maintain and update major rotating equipment/major parts history records; use these records to plan proper replacement of aged parts via a tracking database.
  • Coordinate with TE Division/TER to request technical services (RTS) for major equipment, agree on scope of work, review and implement RTS recommendations.
  • Follow up on permanent/temporary plant change management system (PCRs) for major equipment from initiation to post‑closure.
  • Coordinate with PX team to review rotating equipment documents for new projects, retrofits, modifications, service bulletins and plant expansions from pre‑feed to project completion.

Supervision

  • Plan, supervise and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.
  • Train and develop staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job and deliver the respective functional objectives.

Budgets

  • Provide input for preparation of section/team/department budgets and assist in implementing the approved budget and work plans to deliver functional objectives.
  • Investigate and highlight significant variances to support effective performance and cost control.

Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures

  • Implement approved section/team/department policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures to support execution of work programs in line with company and international standards.
  • Comply with all applicable legislation and legal regulations.

Performance Management

  • Contribute to achieving approved performance objectives for the section/team/department in line with the company performance framework.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement

  • Design and implement new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of operational processes.
  • Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices to pursue greater efficiency in line with industry standards and define intelligent solutions for operational issues.

Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability

  • Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures, controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC Code of Practices.

Reports

  • Provide inputs to prepare MIS and progress reports for company management.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Business Administration.
  • Six years of relevant experience in operations and maintenance of rotating equipment within a large industrial organization, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
  • Strong understanding of performance analysis and standards in oil & gas production.
  • Good understanding of business planning, performance measurement and economic analysis.
  • Good understanding of relevant business processes, systems and tools.
  • Proficiency in building production performance analysis reports to identify prospects of improvement for strategic business planning.
  • Awareness of business risk and controls for plant production within the oil & gas sector.
  • Planning, organising, scheduling and coordinating, checking, examining and recording.
